I'm Moving to Malaysia!

Hi guys! Today I have an exciting announcement post for you. As some of you may already know, very soon, this month in fact, I'll be starting my Masters. And unlike with my Bachelor degree, which I did here in Mauritius itself, this time I'm going to university abroad. And in today's post, I thought I would share with you some info so that you guys know what's going on for me at the moment.

So what will I be studying?

So I'll be doing a Masters of Arts in Communication. I did my Bachelor degree in Marketing Management and since I wanted to do something a bit new while staying in the same general field, I went for Communication. Plus, I thought that this course might also help me with my blog.

Why go abroad to study?

I knew I wanted to go abroad for my Masters even when I was yet to finish my first degree. See, with Mauritius being a rather small country, there's no point in having dorms on the university campus since it's easier for students to simply go back home after classes. So here, going to uni is not much different from going to high school in that aspect. Classes are over, you get on a bus and go home.

For my Masters though, I wanted things to be different. I wanted to know the experience of living by myself and away from home. I wanted to go on an adventure of my own instead of just reading about adventure in books. I suppose I also wanted to become a little more independent. To learn to fend for myself in the world. To get that, the only way was to go abroad.

Now why Malaysia, you might be wondering? Well, for us Mauritians, Malaysia offers the perfect balance between excellence of education and decent budget. While there's certainly an appeal in going West or to Europe, budget-wise Malaysia was the best alternative for me.

Where exactly will I be living and studying?

I'll be living and studying at Taylor's University, in Selangor, Subang Jaya. I've been to Malaysia before so I'm a little familiar with the country already. And from what I've seen from photos,a bunch of which a friend who also studied in Malaysia sent me, Taylor's University looks pretty nice. The best part? It's a lakeside university. Yep, it actually comes with a lake!

So how will this all affect the blog?

Firstly, I expect that I will probably publish fewer posts per month, with me being busy with my Masters and everything. That being said, moving abroad and living by myself in a completely new setting might also help inspire new blog posts so I might also write a bit about my experiences in Malaysia.

I know I'll definitely be sharing info and pictures with you guys whenever I can. I'm thinking I might even continue my Travel Log series, only featuring Malaysian locations instead of Mauritian ones. So far I can mostly speculate but soon I'll probably have a little more info for you guys ^^

When am I leaving?

I'm leaving Mauritius on the 25th of May. The 25th guys! That's like less than 2 weeks from now! I'm having a weird mix of anxiety and excitement, although I'm definitely more excited than anxious. Leaving my family is going to be weird. I know I'll miss them a lot. Especially my little sister who's basically my best friend. And let's not forget my bookshelf and all of the books that I'm also leaving behind!

That being said, I'm also really looking forward to what is certainly going to be a big adventure. I've never lived by myself before, much less in another country. Sure, sometimes when I think about it, it all feels a little scary. The Masters course itself is going to be pretty challenging, not to mention that I'm such a hopeless introvert too!

But like Gandalf said, 'The world is not in your maps and books. It's out there!' And I'm ready (I think!) to finally go on that adventure of my own ^^

How Bedtime Stories Got Me Into Reading

"What was the first book you've ever read?" people will sometimes ask me. Shrugging, I always answer, "I don't remember. But I know I loved it"

I don't remember because the first books I fell in love with were those my dad would read to me when I was too young to understand the words on the pages of my favorite books. Today's post is a discussion about bedtime stories and perhaps also, a little tribute to those early stories that gave me my never-ending love for books.

Bedtime stories have shaped my reading life and that's something I'm sure a lot of you can relate to. But why are bedtime stories so influential? What is it about them that is able to spark an interest in kids for printed words on a page?

Reading feels like home

Reading time with mum or dad is something lots of kids look forward to and cherish. It's that time of the day when no one is too busy to spend time with them. When you're a child, there is comfort and safety in the warmth of your mother's arms or on your dad's lap. These feelings are also present when children are being read stories by their parents. Thus, over time, they begin to associate reading time with feelings like love, comfort, warmth. And so, as they grow older and start to open books on their own, reading remains something they associate with positive feelings. With home.

The eagerness of resuming an adventure

If a book is on the longer side, it'll probably take a few days before the parents get through it with their child. Each night, the child will be eager to continue the story where they left off the previous day. When I was little, my mum would read a book of 365 stories to my sister and I, with one story for each day of the year. It was comforting to know that each day had a new story for us. We would look forward to the next day's story and to reaching the book's end and so, that time in the evening where mum would come in our room with the book, was something we particularly loved.

The pleasure of turning the pages of a book on your own

When you're very young, it's your dad or your mum who reads to you, who turns the pages of the book for you and from the comfort of your bed, you watch them and wish to become just a little older so that you can do these things too. Story-telling time with their parents encourages children to be interested in books. It encourages them to pick up books and enjoy turning the pages on their own.

Characters that resonate with us

The role models children look up to are often the characters they come across in their cartoons and their books. A book with characters that resonate with them are more likely to catch their attention and encourage them to read. When Harry Potter was first published, so many kids related to his story. He was a little awkward and a little lost when he was first introduced and kids everywhere were intrigued by his story and were eager to see where next his adventures would take him and them alike. Anne of Green Gables, The Famous Five, Nancy Drew, Matilda... Often, it's our favorite childhood characters that give us our love for books and make readers out of us.

The milestone of reading your first words on your own

When I was little and my dad would read to me from my favorite books, I couldn't wait to one day be just like him and be able to read all these great stories on my own. To a child that grew up with books and stories, learning to read on their own is a milestone they'll be happy to reach. Thus, bedtime stories make readers out of children. It gives them an interest in books that will be converted to curiosity over time. A curiosity that will push them to learn more and read on their own with the same confidence their parents read to them.

Stories make us dream

Children love stories. They love listening to them and making up some of their own. Stories feed their imagination and allows them to become anyone they want to be. Pirate, wizard, princess, superhero... Books make kids dream and become imaginative and feed their creativity.

So, yes, bedtime stories made a book lover out of me. They gave me a love for stories that only grew as I got older. To both my sister and I, reading time with our parents is among the highlights of our childhood and we would probably not be the avid readers we are today if not for those nights huddled with our parents over our favorite childhood books.

What do you think of bedtime stories? Would you say they do help kids grow to love reading? Also, if you have kids, is there a particular story you like to read to them?

Reading is not fun anymore?!

Hi guys! So I was in my room yesterday, desperately trying to finish the book I was reading, when I suddenly realized something which caught me completely off-guard: I was not enjoying it at all! And sometimes, yeah, some books don't work for you, but what I realized I wasn't enjoying was not the book but the reading itself. And then it hit me. I had been trying so hard to finish as many books as I could lately that reading had stop being fun.

Source

Okay, so you're probably wondering why I've been trying so hard to finish my books. Well, those of you who've been here for a while already know this but in short, very soon, I'm moving abroad to do my Master degree. That means that I'll be leaving a bunch of my stuff back at home... including my bookshelf and all of its unread books!

I know, I know. I can take some books with me. The thing is, I already have so many stuff I must bring with me, which limits the number of books I can take with me. So some books will have to be left behind and there's not much I can do about that. Apart from reading them that is... which brings me back to the whole 'reading is not fun anymore' situation.

Source

While I will have a full post for you with more info about my move abroad soon, right now what I can already tell you is that I'll be leaving in roughly 5 weeks. And 5 weeks is a very short span of time to finish a TBR. Usually, I read 1 or 2 books per week. With the move looming closer, I've found myself struggling to complete 4 or 5 books per week and while I've read some good books lately, not gonna lie, after a little while it all began to become a tad exhausting.

So today, I was thinking I wished I had someone I could discuss about all that stuff with when I suddenly realized that I actually do. I mean you guys, of course ^^ So I decided to write a blog post about it. And make myself a warm cup of tea which I'm drinking while I'm typing this... Tea ♥

Source

Phew! I do feel a little better about it now that I've shared all that stuff with you! And had some tea ^^

Okay, so here's what I've decided...

1. I'm going to take a break from reading for a couple of days or more. I had a bit of a burn out here so the best thing is simply to take some time off reading.

2. I'm going to stop stressing about my unread books. I'll pack as many of them as I can and so what if I leave some unread books behind? I can just read them when I'm back, right?

3. Starting from now, I'm going to read only for pleasure. Not to finish my TBR, not to meet any kind of reading goal, nope. I like books and that's the only reason I'll be reading them.

4. I'll read books I want to read rather than books I feel I should be reading. This seems like a simple thing but honestly, sometimes I feel like there are particular books or kinds of books I should be reading and this is just ridiculous. Unless you have required reading for school or maybe for review, there's no reason to push yourself to read things you don't feel like picking up.

Source

I guess today's post was more me sharing my thoughts with you rather than an actual book blog post. It's just that I really wanted to share this issue with you guys. So if you have words of advice for me or simply some thoughts you want to share, definitely leave a comment down below!

Books seem like such a silly thing to get stressed over right?! But I guess that's part of being a hopelessly passionate book lover after all ^^

23 Things You Don't Know About Me! - A Birthday Special

Hi guys! So today it's my birthday :) If you read my previous post, you already know that on the 18th I was also celebrating my blog anniversary. If you want to also check out that post, you can do so by clicking here.
So, today I turn 23. I wasn't quite sure what to write in today's post but since I'm a relatively new blogger around here, I thought I would take this opportunity to tell you a little about me. So in honor of my 23rd birthday, here are 23 things you probably didn't know about me!

1. My earliest memories go back to when I was 2 years old.

2. My two biggest fandoms are Alice in Wonderland and Harry Potter.

3. I wish I could wear boots all year round because they are my favs.

4. My dream birthday party would be an Alice in Wonderland themed one.

5. I’ve known my two best friends, Laetitia and Meghna, for 11 years. We still talk almost everyday!

6. My favorite songs are the Swan Lake theme by Tchaikovsky, The Color of the Wind from Pocahontas, the Phantom of the Opera theme song and anything by Evanescence. Yes, my tastes are all over the place, I know.

7. And yes, I absolutely love ballet. My favorites are Swan Lake and Giselle.

8. My favorite dessert flavors are salted caramel, chocolate and crème brûlée.

9. Sailor Moon was my earliest favorite character. I was 4 or 5 years old at the time.

10. In books that have love triangles, I always root for the guy the main character ends up ditching…

11. Back during my teen days, my hair used to be so long it reached well past my knees!

12.  Tea and water are pretty much the only things I’m allowed to drink due to a stomach condition I have. No milkshake or wine for this girl!

13. I’m a huge Disney fan. My favorite movie is Pocahontas and my favorite male and female leads are John Smith and Ariel respectively.

14. I live on an island but I don’t know how to swim.

15. I love Christmas and board games so much that last Christmas I made my own Christmas-themed board game, complete with a board with actual tiles, a wheel you can spin and playing cards!

16. Lestat, from Anne Rice’s books, was my first literary crush. He remains to this day both my biggest literary crush and my favorite book character.

17. My dream Halloween costume would be of a gender-bent Mad Hatter.

18. My favorite season is winter but if I lived in a country where you actually have four seasons, Fall would be my favorite season. I love my boots and warm clothes and really, really can’t stand the heat of the summer months.

19. I named our first dog, a German Shepherd, Zazu after the bird in The Lion King. I won’t apologize. I was 4…

20. My favorite time to read is in the morning during my breakfast.

21. Each time I watch the Hobbit, the Lord of the Rings and the Harry Potter movies, I close my eyes at the spider scenes and wait for my little sister to tell me when I can open them again. Yes, you read that right: My little sister.

22. My favorite TV series is Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

23. I love Halloween but I have actually never seen a pumpkin in real life!

So those were 23 things about me I thought I would share with you today. As always, your comments are most welcome. Later guys ^^

P.S. On a completely random note, who else loves Charmed?! I would say it's my favorite TV series right after Buffy. Yep, I love me my 90's shows ^^

How to get back into reading

Hi guys. Today I have quite a different post for you. Some people find it hard to keep the habit of reading after reaching certain events or changes in their lives. They might have really enjoyed books once but they simply gave up reading over time for some reason or another. Life is unpredictable. Things change, stuff happens and along the way, you suddenly realize that you simply don't have time to read anymore. So in this post, I'm going to show you little things you can do to gradually introduce reading back into your life.

This post has two parts so make sure you scroll till the end. In the first part, I highlight a few reasons why we sometimes disconnect from reading. And in the second part, I suggest a few things that can help to get you back into reading. So let's start.

I used to love reading but now I... just don't?

Time management is tricky. Whether you're starting a new academic year, you just started a family or your job is obliterating all your free time, life can take a toll on your reading. Here are a few scenarios where this can happen:

You're starting uni for the first time and you're either too anxious (that would be me) or too excited to focus on reading.

Source

Started university is a huge deal whether it completely stresses you out or it's the one thing you've been anticipating your whole life. Between meeting new people, learning your way around the campus and wrapping your mind around the fact that you now have to actually study again, it'll take weeks for you to sink into a more or less normal routine. So, you might not have time to catch up on your favorite book series and it's totally fine.

You have a job. And you're tired. Very tired.

Source

Whether you're working regular hours or double shifts, it doesn't matter. You're working and that in itself can be tiring. All you want to do when you get back home is take a long shower and spend the evening watching your favorite TV show. That chunky bestseller you bought in a frenzy all those months ago is looking less and less appealing and as days go by, you're slowly coming to terms with the knowledge that you're never actually going to read the damn book.

You just started a family and you're too busy taking care of your new bundle of nappies and cuddles to remember that book you abandoned midway on your nightstand.

Source

Parenthood is a profession in itself and getting the hang of things takes time. Not to mention energy. Lots of it. So who cares if your TBR is gathering dust? You have a mini me now and you should definitely take the time to enjoy it.

You've fallen out of love with the only book genre you used to read and now you simply have no idea what you want to read next.

Source

Vampire love triangles just don't do it for you anymore. But then neither do post-apocalyptic scenarios appeal to you. Literary fiction puts you to sleep faster than history classes and contemporary just don't have enough fangs in them. Basically, you just don't know what's left for you to read.

School's over and you just have too many other stuff happening next to pick up a book.

Source

You might be too busy applying for college or you might be already working. Or, you know, you might be actually enjoying the end of school by taking a well deserved vacation. It's fine, we're not judging. We all need a little break from things every now and then.

So I want to start reading again but I'm not quite sure how...

You need to get excited about books again before you feel the urge to start reading them again. Remember that little thrill you felt when you got your hands on that last Harry Potter book? You need to find that little thrill again. Here's how you can do that:

Start watching BookTube videos. (You know, YouTube videos dedicated solely to books.)

Source

Watching those videos was what actually got me out of my slump and back into reading again. Watching other people gush about the books they love is bound to get you excited about picking up a book too. Plus, you'll be getting new recommendations in there which are going to help you explore new genres that you might have neither even heard of. Like, I love magical realism but it wasn't until BookTube that I even found out about it. The BookTuber featured here is Christine and you can check out her channel here.

Read an old favorite you used to really love.

Source

Revisit a book you already love to remember what it was about it that made you love reading it so much. Then, either look up other books by this author or check online for recommendations based on the book to find what you'll be reading next.

Get a Goodreads account to keep track of your reading progress.

Source

On Goodreads, you get to track your reading progress page by page. You can also see how many books you've completed. This will motivate you to read more and give you a goal to look forward to. I joined Goodreads immediately after getting out of my reading slump and to be part of the community there has definitely made reading a tad more exciting for me.

Read with your kids. They'll love it, I promise.

Source
Just because you're a parent doesn't mean reading has to be completely banished from your life. If your kids are young, why not take some time each day to read something to them? Not only will you both be reading a little everyday, but you'll also be building memories that I can assure you your children will cherish forever. Indeed, one of the my favorite childhood memory is of my dad reading to me each night before I went to bed.

Listen to audiobooks on your way to and from work.

Source

Having an audiobook on while you're driving or riding the bus or metro to work will help you get some reading done even if you don't have time to actually read. Plus, if you're listen to them on your way back home too, it'll give you something to look forward to during the day so that by the time you're listening to your book again, you're genuinely excited to pick up where you'd left off earlier. The feeling of anticipation and the excitement of finding out what happens next in your book will gradually translate into excitement for actual physical books and soon, you might start picking up books more and more regularly.

So that's it for this post guys. This was a post I really enjoyed writing and I hope you can find some useful tips in here. As always, your comments are most welcome. Until next time...

My Bucket List (2016 Edition)

Hi guys. Today I have a more general type of post for you. 2015 has been a year of challenges and self-discovery for me and while it wasn't always easy, today I know myself a little better and I'm starting to have a better view of where I want to be later in my life. This is why I've decided to put together a bucket list. I feel I've grown just enough as a person to know which dreams are worth pursuing and what are those which will never be anything more than a fancy. And so, here's my bucket list ^^

I want to visit the French countryside with my sister

Source
It's going to be a sister only trip to France with Pooja, my little sister. The plan is to visit the countryside rather than actual cities and spend our trip at a B&B. There's a French TV program we both love which features beautiful B&B places in small French towns and that's what got us enamored with the idea. These towns are famous for their castle ruins and local produce like cheese and jam and that's the side of France we want to discover.

I want to have a library in my house

Source

Once I have my own place, I want to have a room dedicated solely to my books. It's kind of a rational dream too since by the time I get my place, I would have probably accumulated enough books to fit a room anyway. Mine would probably not look like the library in the picture but a girl can dream right?

I want to visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Source
If you've been around for a while now, you probably know how much of a Potterhead I am. You might also remember that time I decided to turn my house into Hogwarts for my sister's 18th birthday. So ideally, I'd not only visit the park, but I'd also have my sister with me. Sporting our Gryffindor and Slytherin scarves no less. She's the Slytherin by the way...

I want to read the complete X-Men comic series

Source 1 & Source 2
So this one might be a little tricky, especially since X-Men has practically countless spin-offs and that some of its first issues are hard to find. I did already start reading the first issues from the 60s though and I'm already in love enough with the world and the characters to be motivated to make it all the way through the series. There are over 300 issues in the main series so this goal will probably linger on my bucket list for a few more years. But that's okay 'cause I do enjoy reading these comics.

I want to visit Disneyland (again)

Taken at Disneyland Hong Kong, December 2014
I was able to visit Disneyland Hong Kong with my family in December 2014 and it was so magical that I can only hope to do it again one day. I'm as big a fan of Disney as I'm a Potterhead so Disneyland simply has to be on my bucket list. In the best of worlds, I'd also get to actually stay in one of the hotels in the park. There's no age to have breakfast with Mickey. Just sayin'...

I want to visit Japan

Source
I love Japan from all the books I've read by Haruki Murakami and all those anime I've watched. I'm not sure if you can call me an otaku though since I tend to be fan of anime most people often haven't even heard of. I'm completely enamored with Japan though and would love to see it's tech-crazy cities and walk under the branches of sakura blossoms.

I want to work in the publishing industry

Source
Originally, my dream was to study languages or creative writing and pursue a job in the publishing industry. Then, I realized that we don't actually have creative writing courses here in Mauritius and that our publishing industry is basically nonexistent. No, publishers of primary school textbooks don't count. My dreams kinda squashed, I instead went for a bachelor degree in Marketing. Now, 4 years later, I'm glad things happened the way they did. After I started this blog, I realized that maybe I could still participate in the publishing industry as a blogger and a reviewer. And now, having graduated from uni, I've realized that my life doesn't have to be restricted to something as trivial as geography. So yes, I still dream of working in the publishing industry. I may have to move abroad and it's certainly going to be hard, but I'll do my best to make it happen.

So that was my bucket list. I wonder what the 2017 edition will look like. Hopefully I'd have made a dent in my X-Men TBR by then. All the travelling will have to wait though 'cause I still have my Master degree to start this year. Not to mention that I don't actually have a job yet XD.

And now, tell me...

How I organize my blog

Hi guys! Today I want to share with you some tips to help you get more organized and make your blogging more efficient. Back when I had just started this blog, I didn't plan ahead much and would write post sometimes only a few hours before they were due to be posted. Now, there's nothing wrong with a little bit of spontaneity but with life getting more hectic later during the year, I quickly found that this freestyle approach to my blogging was becoming a little strained. So, after a few months of blogging, I began to change the way I plan and organize my posts.

Whether you're a new blogger or you've been blogging for some time now and want to make things more efficient, I hope you'll find these tips useful ^^

Keep a blog journal

It doesn't have to be anything fancy so long you have something where you can jot down blog post ideas and quick post drafts. I use this beautiful cloth bound journal covered in dragon patterns that I bought in Hong Kong during my 2014 Christmas vacation there. The purpose of a journal is to give you a place where you can store all your ideas and bits and pieces of writing that cross your mind. Once you have all of your thoughts and ideas in one place, later, it'll be easy for you to reference to them when writing a blog post. Like I said, your journal doesn't have to be overly fancy. However, things that visually appeal to us are more likely to motivate us. So if you're going to be using a journal, you might as well pick one that'll motivate you to use it ^^

Make lists of ideas

You can list down all the blog post ideas that come to your mind in your journal so that when you need to write a post, you only need to pluck an idea from your list. You can add to your lists ideas inspired by other blogs and YouTube videos, Pinterest boards and things you come across in your everyday life. You can have different lists for different categories of posts. You enjoy doing tags? Why not make a list of all the cool tags you enjoy? Thus, whenever you feel like writing a tag post, you'll can have your pick from all those in your list. You can have different lists of ideas to cover as many topics and post categories as you choose. You can use color tags or sticky notes to index your various lists in your journal to make the referencing easier for you.

Use a planner or an agenda

Once you have all your ideas in one place, it's easy to allocate specific posts to specific dates. Aside from my journal, I use a planner where I write the specific post titles I want to publish on specific dates. I usually publish around 7 posts every month. So whenever I'm planning a particular month's post schedule, I simply pick out 7 post ideas that I'd like to do from my journal and decide on which day I want to do each of them. Thus, when I open my planner to a particular month, I know at a glance what are the posts I need to write for that month.

Write your posts in advance

Having your posts already planned for the month makes it simple to write them in advance. You already know what you need to write about so there's no need to spend hours browsing Pinterest boards for blog post ideas. I usually have around 4 posts written in advanced and ready to be published. I spend a couple of days during the week working on the upcoming month's posts and then I take a break from writing during the remaining days of the week. I use that free time to catch up and comment on the posts of other blogs I enjoy reading. Whether you're still studying and you have assignments creeping on you unexpectedly or life suddenly just gets crazy, having at least one or two pre-written posts can help you account for those days where you simply don't have time to sit down and write a full post.

So those were a few tips on how you can organize your blog to make it more efficient. I hope you found these useful. If you have other tips for me, feel free to share them with me in the comments! Happy blogging guys ^^

How To Read More

Ever since I started my blog, I've had people ask me how I manage to read so much each month. I usually read an average of 10 books every month. To be honest though, I had never thought about it much until people started to ask me questions about it. Well, whether you're trying to read more or you just want to know more about my reading habits, here is a bunch of reading tips I've compiled for you.
The first thing you need to remember though is that reading is supposed to be fun. So even if you read only one book in a month, so long you're enjoying it, you shouldn't worry about figures and page counts :)

1. The book in its different incarnations

If you really mean to read more, I suggest you consider reading books in their different forms. This will give you flexibility in terms of when and where you can read. For instance, back when I was still a student, I was too scared of my print books getting creases and tears from staying in my bag to actually take them to class. I was however still able to get some reading done through ebooks and that was a major lifesaver back when I was still a freshman and had yet to make some friends. As to audiobooks, they have encouraged me to get through more children and mid-grade books, which are genres I find a bit hard to read in actual print editions.

2. Kindle app for mobile platforms

So how does that make you read more? Well, staring at your phone, whether you're in the bus, in class or just about anywhere else, is less likely to have people try to peek at your screen or interrupt you by asking what you're reading. 'Cause, well, they probably think you're just texting someone. Ain't that convenient? Also, depending on where you're going and what you're wearing, you might not always be able to have a book with you. Think tiny party bags, ladies. With your books on your phone though, you can literally have your books in your pocket. Not only are you never getting bored in obligatory family dinners again, but you also get to read more. I personally love this app, especially since my Kindle died on me last year and I haven't been able to get it replaced yet.

3. Listening to audiobooks while doing tasks around the house

I'm super lazy when it comes to tidying my room. Recently though, I've taken to putting an audiobook on while I'm going about my chores and not only does it take my mind off the fact that I'm actually doing chores, but it also helps me get some more reading done. Audiobooks have also helped me get through books I would have normally never read. Plus, if you get one narrated by someone who's very good at the job, listening to a book can become a really entertaining hobby.

4. Listening to audiobooks while driving

Audiobooks are also an awesome way to get some reading done when you can't actually pick up a book. Plus, listening to some Roald Dahl on your way to work in the morning is an awesome way to kick-start the day on a cheerful note. I personally recommend Matilda narrated by Kate Winslet!

5. Extra reading time in the morning

If you really need to read more, like maybe for school for instance, I suggest you get up at least half an hour earlier than you usually do. This is just to give yourself some extra time in the morning which you can devote to reading. I personally rather enjoy having something to read when I'm sipping my tea in the morning. If you take the bus to school or work, you can also use that time to read a bit from your book. I personally used to find it a bit hard to read on my way to uni because the lull of the bus usually put me to sleep ten minutes into the trip!

6. Reading before bedtime

Another awesome way to get through a few additional pages of your book is to devote fifteen to thirty minutes to reading before you go to bed. Be careful of page-turners though, 'cause with those you might just end up reading till morning without even realizing it. Happens to all book lovers at least once. Yep.

So these were my ideas for reading more. If you have more tips and ideas you want to share, feel free to drop me a line in the comments!
